Notes:
Regent of Scotland.

Murdoch was imprisoned by the English with his cousin James I, although his imprisonment was even longer and the conditions worse. After King Henry IV died, Humphrey, Duke of Gloucester, wrote to his brother Henry V to point out that although Murdoch's bedding had been changed relatively frequently in their father's reign, it had been some two years since Murdoch's sheets were changed.
